Workshops
Meira Mathison has taught classes and workshops in Canada, United States, Mexico and England for over 40 years.
How does your work become original?
Does it reflect who you are or is it a reflection or copy of the last workshop you took?
Meira’s workshops are designed to help lead the artist to find their own voice, personalizing their work and make their own signature artwork. Meira’s own work is strongly influenced by her background, environment, travels and family.
Thrown, altered, stamped, cut, coloured additions and thick slips are all components that work with the overlay of multiple glazes. Her workshops are full of technique tidbits which include tool making and tips on glaze applications. Hands-on workshops include class and individual discussion and critiques plus making pots which are meaningful to the individual maker’s needs with an emphasis on function and aesthetics.
